At LIST, we offer comprehensive biodegradability testing services for both current and next-generation (bio)plastic materials and composites. Our facilities are equipped to simulate real-world aerobic (compost, soil, marine) and anaerobic (biogas, landfill) conditions following international standards. Aerobic biodegradability is evaluated by measuring CO₂ evolution using standards such as ISO 14851 and ISO 17556. Anaerobic biodegradability is assessed through methane and CO₂ production using ISO 11734, ASTM D5511, and related protocols. We test under controlled temperature, microbial, and moisture conditions, ensuring reliable and comparable results. Materials are assessed for mineralization efficiency (typically ≥90%) to determine biodegradability compliance.
