The 1 MW dual fluidized bed steam gasifier is a demonstration plant for the production of synthesis gas from various solid feedstocks, ranging from biomass to waste materials. The dual fluidized bed technology enables autothermal gasification while producing nitrogen-free synthesis gas, an ideal feedstock for subsequent applications, such as Fischer–Tropsch synthesis. The plant is fully integrated into an industrial site, allowing continuous operation under industrial conditions over several weeks.
Research Services
- Testing feedstocks for synthesis gas production (e.g. plastic wastes, wood residues, sewage sludge)
- Sampling of individual process steps (e.g. gas cleaning) to optimize or design plant components
- Demonstration of end-to-end process chains from waste to product via gasification and downstream synthesis
- Production of synthesis gas for to operate test rigs (e.g. various syntheses) with real synthesis gas
- Scientific and technical support for plant operation
