Main infrastructures include:
1) a pilot station for pretreatment and fractionation based on the steam explosion technology;
2)versatile down-stream treatments including resins, activated charcoal and membranes
technology (MF, UF, NF, IO with a capacity up to 1-3 m3/d);
3) concentration through falling film evaporator;
4)production of 2G sugars at various process scale. STR reactors are available for hydrolysis
up to 3 m3
5) Optimization of fermentation processes (past experience include 2G ethanol from
lignocellulosic sugars and raw glycerol and microbial lipids).
6)Bioreactors are available for fermentation up to 50 L.
AUXILIARY RESEARCH AREAS INCLUDE
1)Fully equipped analytical labs for the biomass characterization, and process control;
2) Genomic and proteomic laboratory with a wide spectrum of activities including the
metagenomic of soil microorganisms and the investigation of novel enzymes involved in
the de-structuration of lignocellulosic substrates;
3)biotechnological laboratories for the optimization of bioconversion processes;
4)pressurized reactors for chemical conversion at sub-critical and supercritical conditions
