Intro
Pilots4U supports pilot and demonstration facilities across Europe by offering a structured membership model tailored to different levels of engagement and visibility. Depending on their needs and ambitions, facilities can choose a membership tier that enables them to showcase their infrastructure, connect with relevant industry players, and actively position themselves within the European bioeconomy ecosystem.
Pilots4U offers three membership levels—Basic, Advanced, and Premium—allowing pilot and demonstration facilities to increase their visibility, connect with bioeconomy innovators, and actively contribute to the European scale-up ecosystem.

Basic Membership
The Basic Membership provides essential visibility within the Pilots4U platform. Members are displayed on the European map with their company name, logo, location, and technology scope, making their facilities searchable by users looking for scale-up support. While visitors can identify the technologies covered by a facility, detailed information about available equipment is not displayed. Basic members become part of the wider bioeconomy scale-up ecosystem through the Pilots4U mailing list and receive regular updates on platform activities, events, opportunities, and invitations to the annual General Meeting. One representative may attend this meeting without voting rights. The meeting serves as a forum to discuss platform performance, new member introductions, member experiences, promotional activities, advocacy actions, regulatory developments, and available support schemes for bioeconomy innovators.
Advanced Membership
The Advanced Membership includes all Basic Membership benefits while significantly increasing visibility and engagement opportunities. Advanced members can create a comprehensive facility profile featuring images, videos, PDF documents, and detailed information about their equipment, including capacity ranges, technical specifications, performance data, and the number of units available. This enhanced profile enables potential customers to better assess the suitability of the infrastructure for their scale-up needs. Advanced members also benefit from direct lead generation, as platform users—including start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs, and larger companies—can contact designated facility representatives for specific technology areas. In addition, members receive access to page traffic statistics, allowing them to monitor the visibility and impact of their profile. Advanced members are included in the distribution of Scale-up Challenges posted by users seeking infrastructure that cannot be readily identified on the platform, creating additional business development opportunities. They may participate in the General Meeting with one vote and are eligible to stand for election to the Pilots4U Board, where two of the seven board positions are reserved for Advanced Members. The Board meets twice per year to discuss platform management, development, promotion, events, budgets, and European advocacy activities. Furthermore, Advanced members may organise one online scale-up training webinar per year, promoted through the platform, enabling them to showcase their expertise and increase their visibility among potential users.

Pilots4U Membership Duration
Members can select and manage their preferred membership type directly through their account on the Pilots4U platform. Each membership period runs from 1 June to 31 May of the following year.
Membership fees for paid memberships are invoiced annually in the autumn:
- Basic Membership: free of charge
- Advanced Membership: €1,000 per year (excluding VAT)
- Premium Membership: €3,000 per year (excluding VAT)
Members may upgrade or downgrade their membership at any time through the platform. However, by subscribing to an Advanced or Premium Membership, the member commits to a minimum membership period of one year.
At the end of each membership period, on 31 May, the membership and any associated payment obligations will be automatically renewed for a further one-year term commencing on 1 June, unless the member either switches to the free Basic Membership through the platform before 1 June or submits a written request to the Pilots4U management team to remove their account from the platform.
Any change, downgrade, or cancellation request must be completed before the start of the new membership period to avoid automatic renewal.
