SUMMARY:COPILOT OPEN CALL 3 – PART 2: Call4TravelVouchers – Selection of 10 Bioeconomy Enablers per Pilot and Demo Infrastructure (PDI) Study Visit & Workshop receiving a Travel Voucher to attend.
DESCRIPTION:Between May 2025 and May 2026 fifteen Pilot and Demonstration Infrastructures (PDIs)\, all part of the “Pilots4U powered by COPILOT” scale-up community\, are opening their doors for a Study Visit and Workshop\, open to any bioeconomy stakeholder and part of the COPILOT/PILOTS4U “Scale-Up & Growth” Programme. The PDIs are located across Europe and active in a variety of technology areas relevant for the bioeconomy. \nTo facilitate bioeconomy innovators and enablers in attending these events\, COPILOT opens OPEN CALL 3 – Part 2\, with the aim to issue travel vouchers (€500 each). With these vouchers\, the COPILOT project will encourage access to and a better knowledge and understanding about the purpose and work of pilot and demonstration infrastructures\, as well as access to a vibrant bio-economy community\, networking and matchmaking. Simultaneously\, the vouchers will foster collaboration\, expand horizons and support scale-up endeavours for the bioeconomy in Europe. \nOpen Call 3 (OC3) will allow bioeconomy innovators and enablers to apply for a €500 Travel Voucher to attend the study visit and workshop of their choice. \nAll information regarding the travel voucher application can be found here: https://copilot-project.eu/open-calls/

SUMMARY:Study Visit and Scale-Up Workshop @ BEST\, Austria
DESCRIPTION:Aim of the study visit and workshop:\nThe Austrian facility BEST – Bioenergy and Sustainable Technologies GmbH is pleased to host a study visit and scale-up workshop at its location in Wieselburg. \nThe event focusses on the implementation and piloting of thermochemical technologies (pyrolysis and gasification) for the valorization of local biomass\, residues and wastes. The thermochemical treatment enables the production of energy as well as renewable carbon products (biochar\, bio-oils and gases) for different applications such as agriculture\, plastics production or metallurgy. Within a local biorefinery concept\, a wide range of raw materials and residues\, preferably at the end of cascading utilization concepts\, can be used as feedstocks. \nThese concepts are to be tested\, evaluated\, piloted and demonstrated at the GreenCarbon Lab of BEST\, whose heart consists of two pyrolysis units: a laboratory-scale rotary kiln pyrolysis reactor and a pilot-scale double auger pyrolysis unit. Research activities focus on the testing of new input materials and on the upscaling of the process to obtain GreenCarbon products (biochar\, bio-oils and gases) with defined properties. \nThe event aims to connect regional\, national and international stakeholders in the bioeconomy network. The morning session (which includes the scale-up workshop) will be followed by a study visit to GreenCarbon lab. Plenty of networking opportunities are provided within the coffee break\, walking lunch and closing session. Moreover\, the visit of the GreenCarbon Lab will be organized in smaller groups to facilitate the participants’ interactions. \nPresentations:\nBEST 02_Wopienka_BEST_company_presentation \nBEST 03_Graefe_BEST_syngas_platform \nBEST 04_Schwabl_GreenCarbonLab \nBEST 05_Schwarz_Commissioning \nBEST 06_Klauser_CircularEconomy \nBEST 07_Mathis_Biochar_Architecture \nBEST 08_Feilmayr_Biochar_Steel_industry \nVisit the BEST websiteAgenda\n9:00-9:30 – Registration \n9:30-9:45 – Introduction to “Pilots4U powered by CoPilot” Platform & Database \n9:45-10:15 – Introduction to BEST and its GreenCarbon Lab and Syngas-Platform mission \n10:15-11:00 – Pyrolysis plants for biochar production: Technology overview\, integration and commissioning challenges \n11:00-11:30 – Coffee break \n11:30-12:30– Training Session: Market Opportunities – Best practice examples \n12:30-13:15 – Walking lunch break \n13:15-14:15 – Study visit: GreenCarbon Lab infrastructure \nFrom 14:15 onwards – Closing remarks\, feedback survey and open networking\, \nTarget audience\nAll bioeconomy stakeholders\, where possible with a focus on BioInnovators (Technology Owners). \nContact: \nManuel Schwabl\, manuel.schwabl@best-research.eu\nElisa Carlon\, elisa.carlon@best-research.eu \nSatellite events The ProteInn Club Industrial Sounding Board Meeting\nThe ProteInn Club is a collaboration between Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant\, Ghent University\, the Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture\, Fisheries\, and Food (ILVO)\, and CAPTURE. SUMMARY:COPILOT OPEN CALL 3 – Pitch Perfect 2025: EXTRA Call4TravelVouchers
DESCRIPTION:The Pilots4U powered by COPILOT project co-organises the Pitch Perfect and Boost the European Bioeconomy 2025 event\, organised on 24 & 25 November 2025 at the Sheraton Brussels Airport. This two-day event of intense cross-border and cross-sectoral pitching\, matchmaking and networking\, aims to link industry to innovative (biobased) technologies\, innovators to investors and to create new partnerships for the future and the further development of innovative\, cross-border and cross-sectoral industrial value chains in the biobased economy. \n(Young) innovative Start-ups and SMEs active in the bioeconomy are the core of this event. They will take the stage during 100+ pitches of seven minutes each. We bring +/- 450 bioeconomy stakeholders together including around 180 start-ups/SMEs\, 50-60 investors\, 50+ corporates\, 30+ European pilot and demonstration facilities and about 150 other bioeconomy stakeholders. Linked to the Pitch Perfect event\, Pilots4U powered by COPILOT organises a Study Visit to the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant on November 26th\, 2025. All information regarding this event can be found at www.pitchperfectbioeconomy.eu. \nTo facilitate access for start-ups/SMEs to this key European bioeconomy event\, Pilot4U powered by COPILOT decided to issue an extra Call 4-TRAVEL-VOUCHERS. The call will grant THIRTY (30) TRAVEL VOUCHERS\, each worth €500\, to start-ups or SMEs to attend and pitch their technologies at the Pitch Perfect and Boost the EU Bioeconomy 2025 event. The travel voucher can cover travel and/or accommodation. \nAll information regarding the travel voucher application can be found here: https://copilot-project.eu/open-calls/
