Pitching, matchmaking and networking in the heart of Europe!
The ‘Pitch Perfect and Boost the European Bioeconomy’ event is a one day physical event of intense cross-border pitching, matchmaking and networking, with the aim to create new partnerships for the future and the further development of innovative, cross-border and cross-sectoral industrial value chains in the biobased economy.
Join this physical networking event on 28 September at the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel
This pitching, matchmaking and networking event brings together the networks of six important bioeconomy platforms: Pilots4U, Tech4Biowaste, BioeconomyVentures, Smartbox, Waste2Func and Bio Base Connect. As such, we can guarantee a diverse attendance reaching from investors, SMEs, start-ups, about-to-be start-ups, scale-ups, large companies, research organisations, technology providers to organisations offering relevant innovation services such as access to finance, scale-up trials, application testing, business plan writing, feedstock analysis, life cycle assessment, social acceptance, etc.
Participants are invited to submit a pitch application for a 6 minutes pitch. As we are organising 6 pitch sessions of 90 minutes each, we are looking for at least 66 inspiring pitches. Not to exclude any interesting developments, pitch categories are not defined upon registration but should be relevant for further development of the bioeconomy.
The matchmaking are one-on-one meetings of 15 minutes aimed at finding new partners. The scheduling of these meetings will be supported by an online matchmaking system, easy to use on a smartphone or laptop.
This event receives funding from the Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No. 837890, 101023200, 101023260 and 101023664.
This one-day fly-in-fly-out event will be held from 10am-5pm at the Sheraton Brussels Airport, just across and only 39 steps away from the airport terminal. The venue is easy to reach by plane, train (station under the airport terminal) and car.
We will start the day with a keynote lecture of Rob van der Meij (Capricorn Ventures). The keynote will be followed by three times two parallel pitch sessions of 90 minutes each. The detailed pitch programme will be released one week prior to the event. Throughout the day, one-on-one matchmaking meetings of 15 minutes each will be ongoing. Those can be scheduled in advance by an online matchmaking system which will be activated during the 2nd half of August. The programme leaves sufficient time for intense networking and innovation scouting in the spacious exhibition area.
Seize the opportunity and apply for a 6 minutes pitch to present your innovative solution or service in front of an exclusive round of potential partners and investors. Participants are invited to submit a pitch application for a 6 minutes pitch. Not to exclude any interesting developments, pitch categories are not defined upon registration but should be relevant for further development of the bioeconomy. Pitch categories can be technology, feedstock or product related (e.g. biobased chemicals, biobased materials, food & feed ingredients, bio-energy…) but also business related (e.g. access to finance, innovation services...).
Upon registration one can upload his/her pitch abstract. To make it easier for us to group the pitches in sessions you will be asked to characterize your pitch in three keywords. In case your abstract is not ready yet upon registration you can submit it later on, but before September 12th, 2021 by sending an email to Katrien.Molders@bbeu.org. Please name your pitch abstract as follows: (only lower case letters) abstract_first name_last name.
If your pitch meets the criteria, we grant pitches on a first-come, first-served basis. Pitches submitted before August 16th, 2021 will be confirmed by the end of August. Pitches submitted as of mid-August will be confirmed within one week following the application. The exact timing and pitch room will not be communicated before September 14th, 2021. In total we can accommodate 66 inspiring pitches. In case the number of pitches exceeds the number of available pitch slots, a waiting list will be established with the aim to replace confirmed pitches that are cancelled.
All pitches last maximum 6 minutes. We will not deviate from this strict timing! Pitchers can use a powerpoint/prezi presentation of maximum 6 slides. These presentations should be sent latest by September 20th, 2021 to Katrien.Molders@bbeu.org. Please name your presentation as follows: (only lower case letters) presentation_first name_last name.
Partake in a unique and exclusive matchmaking event, supported by B2B partnering software and connecting start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs, large enterprises, research organisations, investors, and many other stakeholders who are part of the innovation chain and together shape the biobased economy. All participants will have full control of their own communications and 1-on-1 meetings via a secure login account. The software enables event attendees to pre-arrange business partnering meetings of 15 minutes each arranged around 20 matchmaking tables.
The matchmaking tool will be activated by the end of August. All registered participants will then receive a login and a password so they can start scheduling their meetings.
Any questions on the matchmaking can be addressed to Anneleen.De.Vriendt@bbeu.org.
We reserve (max.) 20 booths for large companies, funding agencies, clusters, SME helpdesks & other innovation related organisations to present their activities. A booth is available at a rate of € 500 (excl. VAT). This rate includes one free registration. Please contact Charlotte.Gijselinck@bbeu.org for more information or to book your booth.
This joint event aims to attract top notch European innovators, start-ups and spin-offs from the biobased sector to present their solution/product/service concepts aiming to participate in the BioeconomyVentures programme and benefit from its services and connection with corporates and investors. At the same time the event will give the opportunity to corporates to propose challenges that can be solved via a bioeconomy approach, filtering needs according to specific priority areas (problem-solution-expected benefits).
