DBFZ a non-profit, public research institute, fully owned by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. Its scientific assignment is to support the efficient establishment of biomass as a valuable resource for sustainable energy supply. DBFZ develops new processes, methods and concepts for efficient utilization of biomass in close cooperation with business partners and research facilities. DBFZ operates research facilities from lab scale up to demonstration scale for different conversion pathways and technologies such as biochemical conversions, thermo-chemical conversions, and biorefinery downstreaming technologies.
